Having a bit of a busy time over Christmas and taking just Christmas day and Boxing day off, I am back to designing, cutting and packaging up stock.  All orders have been shipped by next working day so far, and that is simply because there is stock available and we don't have to cut to order, I have a couple of commissions to complete this week and a couple of surprise parcels to post out.

I feel like I have been away forever.

I am busier than I have been for a very long time.  Looking after the house, grown up kids and hubby whilst he is waiting  for his op,  starting up a small business and trying to get my health in check.... all take their toll and I seem to be constantly tired right now.
Diabetes check today leaves me with a new tablet to add to the cocktail and hopefully this will do what is needed.

I thought I would spend a little time to share a few things with you.

Busy

Another long day, ordered mattresses for us all (been meaning to do this for ages)  Also bought a really nice folding bed for when mum or mum in law visits.....  Got hubbies bookmarks from old pc onto new lappy and loaded office.  hoovered right through, loads of washing, topped up electricity and gas.  Put out name down on some desks and cabinets for the office (free) and ear marked some lovely office chairs.

We all had a medical last week, part of the deal when you sign up for new docs.  My bp has always been pretty good but was 189 over 90 something and I need to go back again Tuesday to get it re-checked.  With move and work prospects etc my stress levels are high but things should even out soon.

I let the cats out for a while today, they had a good look around the yard and garage ad Callie was straight up the fence to go over.  We are going to build an outdoor cage for them, they can leave the house via the kitchen window when we are home and have some fresh air, but not explore anyone elses garden.  Hard choice to make but they are really not used to this concrete jungle.

Moved

Moving was not a whole lot of fun, cannot find any of my crafty stuff and worse still ... we are sleeping on a mattress on the floor still as we have not found a bed we want.  I hate shopping but have had to go shopping every day so far.  Changing bank branch today and have just had the garage door repaired (that has put us behind a bit).  Keeping cats in whilst letting the dog out has been a bit of a pain and Callie escaped to garden and hid in the garage, until she realised she couldn't escape and might as well be carried back into the house.
Town house living feels strange, big garden to little gravel yard.... new mower and strimmer not needed now. My son has the biggest room in the house and is filling it, my daughter has the master and on-suite and the next bedroom as a sitting room.  Family bathroom on top floor (going to get fit now)  We have the third bedroom which is Tint and the fourth is going to be an office/craft space.  Not sure how we will fit it all in as it is too small for a single bed.

 The house is clean although the fuss the rental agency made because I asked for the top of the kitchen cupboards to be cleaned almost had hubby telling the agency to f off, not a happy bunny being told off by the agency owners mum who was sent to clean.  No wonder she was miffed.  Some one else then came in his work suit and also said it wasn't too bad but spent half an hour cleaning the grease up.  We were told it wasn't his job (funnily enough I hadn't asked him to do it, the letting agency did) He was supposed to be elsewhere helping his friend who was getting married at the weekend.  He also was supposed to be at the gym.

Saturday 14th.  Someone came today to collect a debt owed by the previous tennent and gave us a gentle warning re the letting agency we are with when we leave.  That is a bit of a concern as we would have signed up for longer but not so sure we want to now.  I think a word in someones ear to find the owner as we have her name might be a good idea.

We also have a bed today, Fern is visiting her best friend from Messingham and staying in an hotel tonight.  Miss her loads but knows she loves the company she is with and has bought his b'day pressie, card and lactose free chocolate buttons :)

We found premises for the business yesterday but means we will have to work very hard to get up and running asap as we have paid first three month from 1st October.  Nervous, but looking forward to new beginnings.

Now to find my crafty stuff.........

Altered spoon for Susan

I have made an altered spoon for Susan....  All the bits on it have meaning but here are some pics.

Every artists dips his brush into his own soul and paints his own nature in his paintings.

I had a few spoons to choose from.

I used the one on the right.

I made this in blue as blue is healing.  I covered the spoon in some home made texture paste and painted it blue, once dried I added the fibre's but trimmed them as they were far too long for what I wanted. 

I wrapped the words around the handle and added baby blue ribbon to the reverse. I made little charms from 3 blue glass beads. Added a Key to lock old doors and open new ones, butterflies to signify growth and change, Magic lamp - we can all do with a little magic in our lives, love, because we  can and do, a gift because life is, Angel wings for the one watching over us, little bells that sooth and a spoon to mix it all together, There is also a little blue acrylic heart hanging from the tip of the bowl of the spoon.

There is a tiny black rose because there is a little darkness in all of us, The is the window to the soul so I hand drew and coloured an eye for the bowl of the spoon.  I added a little ring on the back to hang it up by.
